Banksy

I have been looking at the graffiti/stencil art of banksy - a London based artist, whose work represents and attacks political issues, it reminds me of some work I did during my foundation year with converting photographs to stencils, which turned out very successfully. This could be something interesting to explore ith clothing - either using paint or bleach.

I also came accross this video which reminded me of him, contemporary graffiti combined with rap culture. They seem to go hand in hand as a lifestlye.

  1. I really like the imagery in this piece. To Compare Elizabeth II with Stalin, Bin Laden and George Bush under above the banner of occupied territory. I think was very interesting.

I like the distinct shapes of the graffiti, and the way that in someways the spray painting makes the words look more 3d or just firmly stand out more. Very cool. I can definitely see why this would look cool on clothing. Very cool!!
