I have been looking at the graffiti/stencil art of banksy - a London based artist, whose work represents and attacks political issues, it reminds me of some work I did during my foundation year with converting photographs to stencils, which turned out very successfully. This could be something interesting to explore ith clothing - either using paint or bleach.
I also came accross this video which reminded me of him, contemporary graffiti combined with rap culture. They seem to go hand in hand as a lifestlye.

I really like the imagery in this piece. To Compare Elizabeth II with Stalin, Bin Laden and George Bush under above the banner of occupied territory. I think was very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI like the distinct shapes of the graffiti, and the way that in someways the spray painting makes the words look more 3d or just firmly stand out more. Very cool. I can definitely see why this would look cool on clothing. Very cool!!
