Fafi

I have recently become very fond of the illustration, street, graffiti art of the french artist Fafi. Her work is extremely kitsch, leaning towards soft porn in its imagery she displays cartoon figures of girls which she calls fafinettes, and Himlo (a monster like companion) which are vibrant, childlike but alluring. She explores femininity through stereotypes and believes that her images are of libarated woman. She has not only made an impact on the urban graffiti world and fine art scenes, but has also began to reveal herself in the product and fashion market. She recently collaborated on a project with adidas shoes which fetch a great deal of custom. In 2006 she created a range of printed bags and animation for window displays for le sports sac. She also created her own clothes line of shirts and bags which have starred in magazines such as Vogue and the face. her work becomes everymore popular and it is evident that her style has been adopted on the fashion scene.
