It is largely the fault of advertising that cigarettes have become such a huge lifestyle choice. During the first and second world war smoking was promoted as healthy and attractive. It is only recently that we are seeing the true consequences of this dangerous habit. It is very difficult now that this has been established to break people away from their addiction.
I must say I was actually quite shocked about the lack of advertising of the smoking ban. I was certainly suprised about the lack of company didnt advertise there help to quit smoking products on the television. Although they were certainly in the shops, displays of such products i would have thought would have been more prominant. I thought it was quite funny and pubs and clubs made advertisments for a last night of freedom, they was some very good advertisment. But then I suppose that just shows how dictorial this act is in many ways. And I suppose it shows that company didnt want to fully exploit the situation!!
